It is difficult to show by photo the devastation that occurred when

the Chaiten Volcano erupted in May of 2008.  The population

of nearly 5,000 was evacuated and only 800-900 have

returned.  The ones who have returned are determined

to rebuild their community even though the volcano

remains in "active" status.
